Mary Lou Johnson

Mary Lou Johnson of Fredonia died of chronic heart failure at her home in the Town of Fredonia on Monday, Dec. 17. She was 66.

Mrs. Johnson was born May 21, 1952, to Robert and Evelyn Sudbrink Schuh at St. at Alphonsus Hospital in Port Washington. She grew up in Cedarburg, graduating from Cedarburg High School in 1970.

On June 19, 1971, she married Keith Johnson at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. The couple lived in Cedarburg, Grafton and Saukville before settling in Fredonia in 1976 and raising their family.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fredonia, where she participated in the St. John Ruth Guild as well as being a member of the Lutherans Womens Missionary League where she served as secretary and president.

Mrs. Johnson enjoyed gardening and canning, and served as a 4-H leader, especially helping with the hog project. She was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan and a supporter of the Waubeka Fire Department, where her husband, son, daughter and sons-in-law served.

She also enjoyed playing sheepshead.

Mr.s Johnson is survived by her husband, their daughters Jodie (Craig) Falk of West Bend and Julie (Matthew) Caswell of Fredonia; grandchildren Brady, Mason, Caleb and Riley Falk and Alyssa, Evan and Olivia Caswell; siblings Nancy Thompson of Waukesha and Thomas (Karmon) Schuh of Port Washington; and sisters-in-law Bonnie (William) Prahl of Mequon, Sherri (Mark) Ketelsen of West Allis, Karin (Steve) Jackson of West Bend and Paula (Tim) Duffy of Milwaukee.

She was preceded in death by her son Jeremy and her parents.

Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fredonia. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington and at noon on Friday at the church until the time of the funeral.

Burial will be in St. John Cemeter.
