Malloy named chief deputy judge for district

Ozaukee County Circuit Judge Paul Malloy has been named chief deputy judge for Wisconsin’s Third Judicial Administrative District.

The appointment was made by Jennifer Dorow, a Waukesha County circuit judge who serves as chief judge for the Third Judicial Administrative District

The Third District includes Jefferson, Ozaukee, Washington and Waukesha counties.

“I appreciate her vote of confidence and am looking forward to working with her on any issues she asks me to work on,” Malloy said, adding that in his role as Ozaukee County’s presiding judge he was developed a strong working relationship with Dorow.

Working with Malloy and a professional court administrator, Dorow manages the flow of cases in the district and meets several times a year with other chief judges from districts throughout the state to work on administrative issues.

Chief and deputy chief judges continue to work as circuit court judges except in the First Judicial Administrative District, where the position is a full-time job.

Malloy succeeds William Hue, a Jefferson County circuit judge who resigned as deputy chief judge.

Dorow was appointed chief judge by the Wisconsin Supreme Court in August 2017.

Malloy was appointed to the Ozaukee County Branch 2 bench in 2002, then elected in 2003, 2009, 2015 and 2021. Circuit judges serve six-year terms.

 He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a law degree from John Marshall Law School in Chicago.
