Liza Rodriguez

Ms. Liza Rodriguez of Saukville passed away Tuesday morning, March 18, 2025, at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon with her loving father holding her hand. She was 46 years old.

Liza Ann was born in Milwaukee on March 4, 1979, the daughter of Richard and Deborah (nee Prom) Rodriguez.

Liza grew up in Port Washington and later Saukville and attended special needs programs at local schools.

A Special Olymics medalist in swimming, gymnastics, basketball and bowling, Liza was very well known throughout the Ozaukee County area. She loved music and dancing, singing karaoke and watching music videos. Cher was one of her favorite performers, and Liza treasured the journey to see Cher in concert in Las Vegas in 2017.

Liza also loved all things Disney, particularly the Lion King and Disney princesses.   The family took many trips to the Magic Kingdom in Florida, the most recent to celebrate Liza’s birthday just two weeks ago.  She also enjoyed playing the slots at casinos on trips with her parents.

A kindhearted soul, Liza loved all animals and took time to say hello to any that she saw … even bugs.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her parents Rich and Deb Rodriguez of Saukville, brother Richard P. Rodriguez and grandmothers Carol Prom and Jeanette Rodriguez.

She is further survived by aunts and uncles Michael (Debra) Prom, Patrick (Magy Watson) Prom, Kevin Prom, Diane (Bobby) Schneidwind, godmother Robin (Alan) Matenaer, Kerry Prom, Kristopher (Charlotte) Prom, Sean (Eryn) Prom, Pablo (Mary) Rodriguez Jr., godfather Robert Sargent and Rudolph (Carol) Rodriguez.

Liza was preceded in death by her grandfathers Henry Prom and Pablo Rodriguez, aunts Patsy Sargent and Renee Gundrum and uncle Keith Prom.

Private family services were held.

The family wishes to extend their thanks and gratitude to the Highland Group Home staff, especially Steph, Mike, Pam, Marie, Liz and many others, for the dedicated and compassionate care over the years. They would also like to thank Matt and Individual Growth Services and the staff at Ascension Cancer Center-Mequon and Lawlis Family Hospice for their care and attention.

If desired, memorials in Liza’s name are suggested to Special Olympics Ozaukee County.

Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
