LETTER: Would Tiffany as governor let Milwaukee County go broke?

To Ozaukee Press:

When it comes to the truth, usually the best we can expect from the GOP are half-truths. So here we go again with a barrage of ads from billionaire PACs that David Crowley raised taxes in Milwaukee County, because, according to these oligarchs, that’s what Democrats do.

An attorney from South Milwaukee pointed out that David Crowley when he became Milwaukee County executive inherited a nearly bankrupt budget due to a decade-plus of underfunding by the Republican controlled Legislature had to make a very painful decision just to keep the whole thing afloat. That’s what leaders do.

Now, it’s disingenuous, and likely intentional, to point the finger at him when we all know who’s to blame. It ain’t David Crowley. And it ain’t the Dems.

So, Tiffany campaign, what do you want Milwaukee County to do? Go broke? Is this what Tom Tiffany would do?

We’ve seen from Tom Tiffany’s time in the state Legislature and in Congress that his choice was to do the political thing in the service of his leader, President Trump.

When it comes to governing, a leader can do the right thing or do the political thing. Sometimes both match, but bottom line is we need leaders who do the right thing. We can put that kind of leadership into the governor’s office by electing David Crowley.
