LETTER: To save our wild land, support Knowles-Nelson Stewardship

No matter where you live in Wisconsin, the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program has made a difference. The program is for everyone, everywhere.
That’s why it’s paramount that the program is fully funded to give it the ability to offer matching grants for the purchase and preservation of land by land trusts.
Land acquisition is what makes public access, habitat protection and outdoor recreation opportunities possible in Wisconsin. This is particularly important in fast-growing areas where wild land will soon be gone forever.
The Legislature needs to put our money where are values are, and this is a program that is valued.
