LETTER: Public school indoctrination is leading youth to socialism

To Ozaukee Press:

As polls indicate, there’s been an uptick among our youth in favor of socialism in America. The latest example is the election of Zohran Mamdani as mayor of New York City.

This, I fear, is the culmination of years of indoctrination and brainwashing of our youth by many public schools and colleges.

Sadly, what’s not being taught is that socialism/communism has been a trainwreck wherever it has been implemented. Examples that are well documented include the Soviet Union, North Korea, East Germany, Cuba, Cambodia, Albania and, of course, Venezuela, often marked by political oppression, economic failure and poverty, all despite early intentions to create equality.

Sound familiar? These failures are created by excessive state control, authoritarianism, lack of innovation and suppression of individual freedom, all leading to widespread inflation and poverty.

The only people ever known to thrive under the leftist, big-government regimes are politicians, the military and the connected elite.

Today here at home, the entire Democrat party apparatus and their mainstream media propaganda buddies pray at the altar of socialism/communism and have gone so far to the left that it would make Joe Stalin look like a moderate. Most, if not all, of today’s Democrat leaders fall in line with this insanity like trained chimps and not one of them has the stones to stand opposed.

Young voters need to get more engaged in today’s political climate and stop viewing the left-wing bias they see on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC and the like because if this trend continues we are sure to lose our country and the freedoms it provides.

A most fitting quote for today’s world would be by former President Ronald Reagan: “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it on to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected and handed on to them to do the same.”
