LETTER: Power plant noise increase allowed by city is ‘not subtle’

To Ozaukee Press:

Decibels are measured on a logarithmic, not linear, scale. So a measurable 10-decibel increase corresponds to sounds perceived as twice as loud.

This would not be a subtle increase in noise levels for those living close to the We Energies Port Washington plant and the entire downtown area.

I wonder if the Common Council members are fully aware of what they actually agreed to when they voted to allow a higher noise level from the plant.
