LETTER: Learning at home challenges both students and teachers

To Ozaukee Press:

The Ozaukee Press article about remote teaching talked about how the Port Washington-Saukville School District has adjusted to doing school differently.

As a seventh-grade student at a local private school, I would like to share some of my opinions and observations.

Because I attend a small school, we were not given individual devices until our final day at school.

It was difficult to adjust to the new format of communication that some other schools were already used to.

However, I am glad to see classmates when we do video calls.

For the time being, we are not cutting out any of the curriculum in an effort to meet standardized expectations.

However, this makes for a heavier workload, which is something my teachers are trying to figure out as well.

Overall, I am glad we have the ability to stay in touch, but I cannot wait to be back in school and to finally see everyone in person.
