LETTER: Election denier Tiffany can’t be trusted to lead our state

To Ozaukee Press:

Anyone traversing Wisconsin these past weeks will have been faced with a thicket of oversized, no-expense-spared billboards brandishing the infamous name of Tom Tiffany, candidate for governor of Wisconsin.

Mr. Tiffany has a familiar name. That name, though, carries significant baggage.

Many of us remember clearly his heavy hand in the attempted rejection of the 2020 presidential election results. A recent fact check by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and a USA Today article describe Tiffany’s deep involvement.

Tiffany’s actions undermining election integrity are ongoing. Since 2020, he has continued to support overturning voting results, backed probes into Wisconsin elections and has refused to comment on Trump’s attack on mail-in voting.

Tiffany is delighted to report in what he described as “good news” that Department of Justice representatives will be present at Wisconsin polls as we vote in November. He calls this necessary to ensure “voter integrity.” It sounds more like intimidation.

Tiffany has said he has no regrets. He has sought to negate our votes before and is poised to do so again. As governor of Wisconsin, he would use every method in his power to alter to his liking the results of our elections, both statewide and national.

Tiffany’s record is a clear and ominous warning. He should never be in a position to oversee or meddle in our elections.
