LETTER: Democrats’ affordability idea is to come up with new taxes

To Ozaukee Press:

We’re starting to get a glimpse at what the Democrats mean about affordability.

Here are some examples. First, the newly elected mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, has proposed not one but five taxes. They include a millionaire tax, a property tax, an estate tax, a capital gains tax and, finally, a mansion tax.

Example two is the newly elected governor of Virginia, Abigail Spanberger, who has proposed tax increases that include, but are not limited to, a carbon tax, paid family leave tax, new income tax brackets, a net investment tax and service taxes.

A third example is that the state of Washington just enacted a millionaire tax, a capital gains tax and an estate tax. The  result of these taxes in Washington state is Jeff Bezos and Howard Schultz relocating to Florida.

This, my friends, is what you can expect if Democrats take control of our state or our country.
