LETTER: Crossing streets getting more dangerous for walkers in Port

To Ozaukee Press:

The growing number of young families living on Port Washington’s west side calls for better traffic control on Spring Street and Grand Avenue to provide more time for mothers with small children and even dogs in tow and young school children to cross the street safely. Vehicles turning east to the downtown should have to come to a complete stop at the Spring and Grand intersection.

The increase of traffic, including large trucks, along with short walk lights, is making pedestrian travel more dangerous in this area.
