LETTER: Better government for all is proactive goal for Tony Evers

To Ozaukee Press:

As governor, Tony Evers would take a positive, proactive role in leading our state. He knows the needs of Wisconsinites and has a track record of providing quality benefits to our citizens.

As the director of public instruction for Wisconsin, Evers has shaped the focus of education by reforming academic standards and modernizing technical and career education. In 2016, he provided Wisconsin with the Every Student Succeeds Act, working to have every child prepared to graduate from college and be ready for a career.

Dr. Evers’ journey to governor shows rigor, compromise and innovation. As a Plymouth High School graduate, he attended UW-Madison, worked in public education at every level and has served as state superintendent, winning elections in 2009 and 2013. He has proven himself able to defend and improve public education in the face of tenacious efforts to diminish state support for public schools. His goal is to fix Wisconsin’s educational, infrastructure and economic problems with a positive approach to government.

Evers believes in our families and our communities and if elected governor on Nov. 6 will take our state government in a positive direction.
