LETTER: 92 years of Port City Band music

To Ozaukee Press:

The July 28 Port Washington City Band concert at the bandshell in Veterans Park concluded our 92nd season. Kudos and thanks to the City of Port Washington and especially the Common Council for continuing to value and acknowledge music in our community.

Many community bands have unfortunately faded into memories, so the support of the city government and the citizens of Port Washington is greatly appreciated.

We also thank U-Haul Moving and Storage for providing the flatbed truck and driver for the Fourth of July parades in Port and Saukville and the Fish Day parade.

The City Band draws members not only from Port Washington, but also Saukville, Grafton, Cedarburg, West Bend, Cedar Grove and Germantown to perform in four Sunday evening concerts along with the three parades. Our members range in age from teens entering high school to musicians in their retirement years, making for a great blend of talent and personalities.

President
