Legion offers medical scholarship

The American Legion Melvin Wester Post 412 of Belgium is again offering the Robert H. Dorr Medical Scholarship for $1,500.

Those eligible include children, grandchildren, stepchildren and stepgrandchildren of living or dead Post 412 members, or any student who lives in the village or town of Belgium.

Applicants must be enrolled in medical school and have completed three semesters in their field by Jan. 1, 2019. This includes pre-medical studies and nursing or other professional medical students.

Applications are due Feb. 15.
