Laying down the field

Crews were hard at work Tuesday installing Port Washington High School’s $900,000 Astroturf football field. Sheets of the artificial surface were unrolled on a gravel base, then glued and stitched together. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of the month, in time for the Pirates’ first home game against Nicolet on Sept. 6.                         Photo by Sam Arendt
