Joyce T. Koss

Joyce Theresa Koss (nee Savana), passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020, at Serenity Villa in Slinger.

Joyce was born Nov. 15, 1935, in Wheaton, Ill., to Edward and Marion (nee Pezan) Savana.

She married Charles Kolbe of Wausau in 1953. In 1967, she married Herbert Koss, her husband of 43 years. Together they raised 10 children in Grafton.

Joyce was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and maintained a deep spirituality.

She worked for many years at Badger Billing and enjoyed socializing, gardening and her pets. She greatly valued her friendship with Arlene of Serenity Villa.

Joyce is survived by children Jacalyn Kolbe Sanger, Julie (Bob) Kolbe Wagner of Texas, Jennifer (Fred) Kolbe Nuxoll, Jeffrey Koss, Robert (Cecilia) Koss, James Koss, Jerry Koss of Pennsylvania, and Russell (Suzanne) Koss; sisters Audrey (Jerry) Pintor and Marianne Savana of Tennesse; uncle Ralph (Sharon) Pezan of Illinois; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by Herbert Koss and Charles Kolbe; daughters Jill Kolbe and Marilyn Koss; brother Edward Savana; sister Sharon Haas; and brother-in-law, Harold Haas.

A celebration of Joyce’s life is planned for September.
