Joseph F. “Joe” Lopez Jr

Joseph F. “Joe” Lopez Jr., age 60, of Milwaukee passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
He was born on Jan. 7, 1966, in Port Washington, Wis., to Joe Frank Lopez and Sarah (Gomez) Lopez.
Joe graduated from Random Lake High School in 1984. Beyond high school, he attended Milwaukee Area Technical College for marketing and business.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army 1st Infantry Division during Desert Storm.
He enjoyed spending time playing tennis, taking road trips with his son and attending concerts.
Joe dedicated more than 25 years to coaching baseball in Random Lake, Port Washington and with Perfect Game. He was an excellent pitcher, and his ability to teach pitching to young players led to numerous conference championships and two state tournament appearances. His love for the game led him to scout for the Reds and the Braves. Most recently he was part of the NFL Alumni Association in Illinois and Wisconsin. Joe had a gift for easily striking up conversations and connecting with those around him.
Joe is survived by his wife Maria Cedillo of Milwaukee, Wis.; son Evan Lopez of Austin, Texas; sister Norma Neahous (John) of Port Washington, Wis.; brother William Lopez of Batavia, Wis.; nieces Andrea and Amanda Neahous; and nephew Tanner Neahous. He is also survived by extended family and a wide circle of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Sarah Lopez.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington, Wis. 53074. Pastor Steve Harris will be officiating. The family will greet guests from noon until the service at 2 p.m.
Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington, is assisting the family with arrangements.
