Jerry Lee Packard

Jerry Lee Packard, formerly of Fox Point and Port Washington, died on Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, after a two-month illness at the Village Pointe Commons memory care facility in Grafton, Wis.  

He was born in Portage, Wis., on Aug. 29, 1941.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sara; two sons, Jay (Lynn) of Mequon, Wis., and Tim (Maria) of Alpharetta, Ga.; and four grandchildren, Colin, Campbell, Madeline and Hayden Packard.  

He is further survived by one sister, Jane Cruckson of Muskegon, Mich., and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  

He was preceded in death by his parents Jay and Jessie Packard and two sisters, Janet Scholes and JoAnn Timme.

Jerry graduated from Portage High School in 1960 and then graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1964.  

After teaching for four years, he became a salesman and continued in sales until he retired in 2014.  

Jerry was a long-standing member of the Milwaukee Curling Club and attended First Congregational Church in Port Washington.

Before his stroke in 2014, Jerry was an avid golfer, curler and fisherman and remained loyal to those sports until the day he died. He will be remembered by many as a fun-loving guy who always had a humorous story to go with every situation.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, Highlands at New Castle in Mequon, Village Pointe Commons Memory Care in Grafton and Horizon Hospice.

A visitation was held at Eernisse Funeral Home, Cedarburg, on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, from 3 to 5 p.m., with a service immediately following. Pastor Scott McLeod presided.
