Jentges wins Ozaukee 4-H Crowley Award

Amy Jentges a member of the Little Kohler 4-H Club and a student at Random Lake High School, has won the Ozaukee County 4-H Crowley Leadership Award for 2020.
As a county winner, Amy receives a commemorative engraved medallion and the chance to compete for state-level awards, including a partial scholarship to attend the National Dairy Conference and a $500 scholarship for continuing dairy education.
The state competition will consist of interviews conducted at the Wisconsin State Fair, currently scheduled for August 2020.
Ted Halbach, University of Wisconsin-Madison/Extension dairy youth specialist, called the Crowley Award one of Wisconsin 4-H’s most prestigious awards.
“Past state recipients read like a Who’s Who of Wisconsin 4-H,” he said. “Last year we had over 40 counties select winners and each and every one of these youth had an impressive track record in the dairy project.”
Jentges was selected for her outstanding accomplishments as a youth leader and representative of the 4-H dairy project and advocate for the dairy industry. This is her fifth year in the dairy project.
The James W. Crowley Dairy Management and Extension Fund sponsors the 4-H dairy award program. James W. Crowley was a longtime UW-Extension dairy specialist and strong supporter of dairy youth project work.
