In addition to her professional life, Janet opened her home for many years as a babysitter, caring for numerous children with gentle affection while raising her own daughters, fostering a nurturing environment full of love and joyful activity.

Her love for the outdoors was shared with her late husband, Roger, especially through fishing excursions that brought them close to nature and to each other.
Her creative spirit flourished in her hobbies, notably latch hooking, where she crafted beautiful rugs that garnered recognition at the county fair. Janet’s zest for life extended well beyond her home. She was an active participant in the Grafton Senior Center and Grafton Senior Center Golden Tones Choir, enthusiastically attending bus tours, enjoying visits to casinos, engaging in bingo and playing dominoes with friends.
She had an unwavering appreciation for parades, reveling in community celebrations and the joy they brought.
