Jane Suddendorf

Port Washington resident Jane Suddendorf, a retired high school art teacher whose mission it was to bring art and artists to the city, died at her home Sunday, July 4. She was 65.

Mrs. Suddendorf, who taught at Port Washington High School, opened Gallery 224 in Port Washington in 2012 and Studio 224 a year later, creating a place to exhibit art for the community to enjoy and space for artists to work.

Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington, is handling the arrangements.
