James R. Fuller

    James Richard Fuller, 85, of Port Washington, Wis., died on Aug. 1, 2020, at home surrounded by family.
    He was born in Tulsa, Okla., on April 12, 1935. He was the oldest child of Wallace and Marjorie Fuller, of Coffeyville, Kan.
    Jim was an Eagle Scout. He attended Coffeyville Community College on a full-ride football scholarship and he later attended the University of Tulsa.
    He served two years in the U.S. Navy, from 1955 to 1957 and, for 35 years, was a cost analyst in the printing business.
    On July 20, 1958, he married Loretta Fields, of Joplin, Mo., and the two celebrated their 62nd anniversary just 10 days before his death.
    The couple moved to Fulton, Mo., in 1965. They spent the majority of their married life there before moving to Wisconsin in 2015.
    Jim was the loving and compassionate father of five children, Randall Fuller (Julie), of Lawrence, Kan., Kimberly Wolfmeier of Columbia, Mo., Susan Case (Carey) of Erie, Colo., Bradley Fuller (Emily) of Columbia, Mo., and Nicole Dawson (Josh) of Millersburg, Mo. He was adored by his 15 grandchildren.
    A man of many and diverse interests, Jim was a passionate fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, an enthusiastic coin collector and a voracious reader.
    For several years he was the author of a regular column about sports in the Columbia Tribune in Missouri. He possessed a completely original sense of humor as well as a remarkable zest for life. He will be deeply missed.
    He was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister Patricia Wesner, and is survived by his wife and children.
    The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of Metro Milwaukee Hospice as well as the Aurora Medical Center in Grafton.

    A funeral service will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, in Fulton, Mo., on Sept.19, 2020, at 11 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
