Interfaith to celebrate 25 years at its Dec. 5 gala

Reservations for Interfaith Caregivers of Ozaukee County annual fundraising gala, “Support Our Seniors: Celebrating 25 Years of Service,” must be made by Friday, Nov. 5.

The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at North Shore Country Club in Mequon.

Former Gov. Martin Schreiber, an award- winninga crusader for Alzheimer’s caregivers and persons with dementia, will be the keynote speaker.

Schreiber uses humor and compassion as he shares lessons from his ongoing, decade-plus journey as a caregiver and has written a book, “My Two Elaines: Learning, Coping, and Surviving as an Alzheimer’s Caregiver,” about his experiences.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase and a book signing will follow the program.

Heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks and a raffle will also be part of the event.

Tickets are $35 per person or $300 for a table of 10.

Interfaith began 25 years ago when a handful of concerned residents gathered in a church basement in Port Washington and made a commitment to help area seniors  live as independently as possible.

Since then, it has served thousands of residents.
