Humane Society to hold virtual pet walk events
The Wisconsin Humane Society, which operates a shelter in Saukville, is holding its annual pet walks in Milwaukee and Green Bay virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Green Bay walk is set for Saturday, June 7, and the Milwaukee event for Saturday, June 20.
The Humane Society is waiving registration fees and inviting participants to join them for a digital kickoff online, followed by a run or walk through their own neighborhoods.
The “vendor village,” which is traditionally filled with area businesses, is being replaced by an online marketplace.
The fundraising walks raise about $300,000 annually.
