Hike, potluck scheduled at Cedarburg Bog Jan. 27

The Friends of the Cedarburg Bog will hold their annual winter hike and chili potluck dinner on Sunday, Jan. 27.

Field Station Director Jim Reinartz will lead the annual hike into the heart of the Cedarburg Bog from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Weather can make the four-mile hike challenging, and if ice conditions are not safe hikers will traverse the uplands instead.

The Field Station website uwm.edu/field-station/ will be updated several days prior to the hike with snow and ice conditions.

The chili dinner will follow at 4:30 p.m.

The Friends will provide the chili and  beverages. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share.

For directions or to register, visit www.bogfriends.org and click on the Events tab, send an email to fieldstn@uwm.edu or call 675-6844.

The walk is free but a $5 donation is suggested.
