Hermine Bichler

Hermine Bichler, 89, of Port Washington passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
Hermine was born in Hungary on Sept. 5, 1936.
She met her husband Eugene M. Bichler and was united in marriage on Jan. 19, 1957, at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, music and bingo and cherished her time with family and friends.
Hermine is survived by her siblings Anna Hailer, Hemma Kressierer and Hildegard (Gary) Stramowski, her children Linda Payne, Rita (Dan) Poppe, Laurie (Steve) Cleveland and Edward (Jackie) Bichler, her beloved grandchildren Lisa, Jaime, Krystal, Joshua, Brittney, Adam and Alyssa and great-grandchildren Eli, Kylie, Hadley, Roman and Colter.
She was preceded in death by her parents Adalbert and Eva, sisters Maria and Gisella, husband Eugene Bichler and nephew John Kristbaum.
A memorial service for Hermine will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2026, at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington, Wis. Father Patrick Wendt will officiate. The family will greet guests from noon until the service at 1:30 p.m.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Port Washington.
Hermine’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Sharon Richardson Hospice and Harbor Club in Port Washington for their care and compassion.
