Henry ‘Mike’ Plier III

Henry M. “Mike” Plier III of Port Washington passed away early Christmas morning, Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022, at Anita’s Gardens. He was 80 years old.

Henry was born on Jan. 11, 1942, the son of Henry II and Fern (Wickesberg) Plier.

He grew up in Port Washington and attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from Port Washington High School with  the Class of 1960.

On May 18, 1963, he married Annette Thill at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saukville. The couple settled in Port Washington and raised their family of four children.

Mr. Plier was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Church, currently St. John XXIII Catholic Parish. He was on the church council and was also an usher.   

Henry enjoyed long car rides with his wife Annette and going to Oneida to play bingo.

He collected albums from the 1950s to ‘60s and enjoyed listening to music from that time period.

Henry liked to relax and watch his favorite game shows, “Jeopardy” and “Wheel of Fortune” daily.

He loved taking his kids to Milwaukee Brewers games, as he was a loyal fan.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children Catherine of Port Washington, Michael (Linda) of Grafton, Patrick (Sherry), also of Grafton, and Ann (Donald Jr.) Greiveldinger of Spring Lake Park, Minn.

He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Donald III, Angela, Patrick, Jacob, Benjamin, Alyssa, Erica, Zachary, Kaitlyn, Leah and Ryan.

Mr. Plier is further survived by his siblings Marc (Nancy) Plier of Jackson and Lynn Plier of Port Washington, nieces, nephews, godchildren, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Annette and his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, at St. John XXIII Parish, St. Mary’s Church, 430 N. Johnson St., Port Washington. Father Patrick Wendt will preside. The family will receive visitors at the church Friday from 3 to 5 p.m.

Henry’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff and welcoming residents at Anita’s Gardens for making him feel at home.

Memorials to St. John XXIII Parish, St. Mary’s Church, are suggested in lieu of flowers.
