Helping keep the homeless warm

Members of the Port Washington Womans Club took a hands-on approach to helping others during their March 10 meeting, spending time to make blankets for the homeless. Member Sheila Bierenbaum (left) worked on a blanket, tying the edges to add warmth to the layers. Showing off a few of the many blankets they made were (above photo, from left) Liz Busateri, Jean Butler, Evelyn Hayes, Carol O’Mara, Bierenbaum, Sharel Hubing, Kathy Kernan, Michele Schmitz, Pat Rakowski, Pat Kozak, Bonnie Knaub and club President Kathy Chromy.
