Helen Schumacher

Helen Marie Schumacher (nee Duchane) went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022, at the age of 91 years.

She was born Nov. 11, 1931, in Highwood, Ill.

Helen was united in marriage to Joy Schumacher on Aug. 26, 1950, in Saukville, Wis. They were blessed with three children.

She enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing clothing for her children and grandchildren.

Helen also prayed the rosary every Wednesday night with the ladies at the Berkshire apartments in Grafton, where she resided. 

Helen died peacefully surrounded by her children and grandchildren at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joy and grandson Ryan.

Helen is survived by her children Judy (Dick) Helm, Thomas Schumacher and Lynn (John) Kuczmarski; grandchildren Rick (Katie) Helm, Laura (Jamie) Doneau, Mackenzee (Brad) Kuczmarski, Kristin (Kyle) Smith and Jessica Schumacher; and great-grandchildren Allie Helm, Kalon Smith, Harper Helm and Oaklyn Helm. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday June 3, 2023, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Parish, 1619 Washington St., Grafton.

Burial will follow with immediate family only.
