Helen Petersen

Helen M. Petersen, 95, of Saukville, Wis., and formerly of Bassett, Wis., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Oct. 20, 2020.

She was born Dec. 20, 1924, to Fred and Marie Schenk, who lived in Twin Lakes, Wis.

She graduated high school and went to Milwaukee Beauty School.

On March 8, 1952, she married Donald Petersen.

They lived in Bassett, Wis., where they built a home and lived until Don passed in 2002.

Helen owned and operated Helen’s Beauty Shop for many years. She had a beautiful garden every year and loved working in it. Helen was also a talented seamstress.

Helen and Don loved to travel the country in their RV.

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother to all her children. She was a devout member of the Church of Christ in Kenosha, Wis., and West Bend, Wis.

She lived with her daughter Julie at the time of her passing.

She was preceded in death by her husband Don Petersen; her son David; granddaughter Carolyn Petersen; great-grandson Mays Villareal; and her brother Leonard Schenk.

She is survived by two daughters, Debra (Steve) Roe and Julie Petersen, eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and many other cousins and relatives.

Interment will be during a private ceremony at Mound Prairie Cemetery in Twin Lakes, Wis. She will be buried next to her husband Don.

A memorial of her life service will be held at the Saukville Legion Hall, 601 E. Dekora St., Saukville, Wis., at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14.
