Half of village voters request ballots

About half of the Village of Saukville’s registered voters had requested absentee ballots, either by mail or in person, by end of the day Oct. 27, with several days left to go for early voting.

“We have almost 2,700 registered voters. As of close of the day yesterday (Tuesday) we had 1,359 absentee ballots issued,” Village Clerk Mary Kay Baumann said Wednesday. 

“We are just over 50% on absentees. Of that, 550 have been in-person. It is about what I expected.”

Baumann said the numbers are higher than they were four years ago during the last presidential election.

Early in-person voting concludes at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at Village Hall. 

Absentee Ballots can be requested at www.MyVote.wi.gov through Thursday, Oct. 29. For mail-in ballots to be counted, however, they must be received at Village Hall by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, or brought in person to the polling site, Feith YMCA, 465 Northwoods Rd., by 8 p.m. on election day.

Photo IDs are required.
