Girl Scout cookie sale to feature new flavor
Girl Scouts will kick off their 105th cookie sale this month, and in addition to the classic flavors such as Thin Mints they will be offering a brand new cookie, Adventurefuls.
Adventurefuls are an indulgent brownie-inspired cookie with caramel-flavored crème and a hint of sea salt.
Girl Scouts will sell cookies door-to-door and at booth sales as well as through the Digital Cookie platform.
Cookies may also be ordered directly from a local Girl Scout by filling out the online order form at bit.ly/BuyGSCookiesNow, by entering your zip code into the Girl Scout Cookie Finder online or downloading the free Girl Scout Cookie Finder app on iOS and Android devices.
Almost 2 million Girl Scouts participate in the cookie sale each year, and all of the proceeds raised stay in the local area. Troops and Scouts use the proceeds for community projects, badge activities and trips.
Girl Scouts earning the highest award, the Gold Award, rely on cookie sale proceeds to fund their 80-hour community service projects.
“The Girl Scout Cookie Sale is a quintessential Girl Scout experience, right up there with community service, attending camp and earning badges. The important business and financial literacy skills girls learn through the program are proven to build their leadership skills and position them for success in the future,” Denise Schemenauer, CEO of Girl Scouts of Manitou Council, said.
The council represents Scouts in Calumet, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Manitowoc, Ozaukee, Sheboygan and Washington counties.
