Giles L. Bruecher

Giles L. Bruecher of Port Washington passed away peacefully from cancer at Harbor Club in Port Washington on Monday, Sept. 30, 2024, at the age of 61.
He was born the beloved son of Lawrence and Shirley (Mintzlaff) Bruecher on Nov. 12, 1962.
Giles was a graduate of Port Washington High School.
Giles lived in Port Washington all his life and was a well-known resident. He was a member of St. John XXIII Catholic Parish, St. Peter of Alcantara Church. He walked everywhere and greeted everyone he met. His passion for walking and his participation in the Relay for Life Cancer Walk reflected his commitment to support this important cause.
Giles found joy in connecting with others as a busboy and dishwasher at Smith Bros. restaurant in Port Washington. He was known as the gentle giant and beloved grocery bagger at Sentry Foods. Giles could make you smile by offering a sincere compliment and lively conversation. His line at the store always seemed to be a family favorite. Giles had a big, sensitive, loving heart, and family and friends were very important to him.
Giles memory will be treasured by his sisters Susan (Steven) Klein and Lisa (Troy) Charbarneau and stepsiblings John (Grace) Binsfeld, Michael (Renee) Binsfeld, Ronald (Kerri) Binsfeld, Judy Binsfeld, Peggy Jo (friend Terry) Albanese and Maribeth Binsfeld.
He is further survived by his nephews and nieces Sarajane (Nick) Thomas, Timothy (Misty) Charbarneau, Rebecca (friend Shawn) Charbarneau, Raymond Charbarneau, Troy Charbarneau Jr., Steven P. (Tonya) Klein, Sandy Radtke, Jason Ward, John (Jill) Binsfeld Jr., Katherine, Tina (Aaron) Jagielo, Kevin Binsfeld, Ronald Binsfeld Jr., Michael (Becky) Binsfeld, Jonathan (Kaela) Binsfeld, Kaila Schedler, Samantha Albanese, Christopher (Sarah) Jante, Andrew (Morgan) Phillips and Erin (Brian) Vande Zande; grandnephews; grandnieces; and special friend Jeannie Hespe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother Mary Jo (Lorge) Binsfeld and nephew Phillip Charbarneau.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 1 p.m. Friday Oct. 11, 2024, at St. John XXIII Catholic Parish, St. Peter of Alcantara Church, 1800 N. Wisconsin St., Port Washington, WI 53074. The family will receive visitors at the church from 11 a.m. until the service.
Giles will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Port Washington.
Donations in Giles’ memory are suggested to the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life.
