Georgiana Hecker

Georgianna “Gigi” Hecker, 64, of Fredonia, died at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton Thursday, Aug. 30.

Mrs. Hecker was born in Carmel-by-the-Sea, Calif., on Dec. 6, 1953, to Charles and Dorothy Demey Taylor.

On Jan. 16, 1982, she married Mark Hecker.

Her family said she spent the majority of her time with family and friends while serving others and refusing to be served. Mrs. Hecker played piano for most of her life while developing a passion for Southern Gospel music, and she adored listening to her musical family perform.

She was committed to her church, and developed lifelong friendships throughout her 24 years working at the Shopko pharmacy in Port Washington.

Mrs. Hecker is survived by her husband Mark of Fredonia; son Michael (Rachel); son- and-daughter-in-law Matthew and Kathleen Kirchner; grandchildren Eva and Joseph Kirchner; brother Edward (Jean) Taylor;  and mother-in-law Carol Hecker.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Rachel Kirchner; parents Charles and Dorothy Taylor; and sister-in-law Sharon Taylor.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington with the Rev. Mark Burkholder and the Rev. Brian Thorstad presiding.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the service.

Interment will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Mequon.
