Gardening tips offered during April 22 session
Gardening tips from award-winning author Niki Jabbour will be provided during a Zoom presentation sponsored by the Ozaukee Master Gardeners at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 22.
Jabbour will share secrets to growing food, reducing pest problems and dealing with unpredictable weather and discuss some of the unusual vegetables she grows in her garden such as cucamelons, groundcherries and edible gourds.
She will spotlight a variety of season extenders such as shade cloth, row covers, cold frames and polytunnels and discuss how to use garden covers to prevent damage from deer, flea beetles, and cabbageworms.
Jabbour is the author of “The Year-Round Vegetable Gardener, Groundbreaking Food Gardens” and “Niki Jabbour’s Veggie Garden Remix.” She has written for a number of magazines and is the host and producer of the long running radio show “The Weekend Gardener.”
