Gale F. Philipps

Gale F. Philipps went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. She was 87 years old.

She was born on Sept. 5, 1938, in Sheboygan, Wis., to parents Frank and Mabel (nee Russ) Ingersoll.

Gale was united in marriage with Frederick “Fritz” Philipps on Feb. 13, 1982, at First Congregational Church in Port Washington, Wis.

Gale enjoyed reading, baking and bowling. She loved to go to the YMCA and the library. Above all, she cherished her time spent with her family and friends.

Gale is survived by her husband Frederick “Fritz,” children Ben (Kelly) Melsheimer and Casey (Jean) Melsheimer, grandchildren Brittany Melsheimer Szymanski and Josh Melsheimer and great-grandchildren Billy and Dillion Kennedy. She is further survived by her siblings Alice (Tim), Karen and Brad, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Peter Melsheimer and daughter Sue Kennedy.

A celebration of life for Gale will be held in the near future.

Gale’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff at Lawlis Family Hospice for their care and compassion.
