Gail Marie Flom

Gail Marie Flom, 59, of Random Lake passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, at Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital Ozaukee in Mequon.
Gail was born to Harry W. and Marleene L. (Jacobson) Thomas on July 3, 1966, in Port Washington. She graduated from Random Lake High School.
On Sept. 11, 1987, she was united in marriage with Kurt Flom at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Little Kohler.
Gail worked as a manufacturing assembler at Simplicity for many years before being a caregiver and activities director at Belgium Gardens. Gail was a caregiver in her role at Belgium Gardens as well as for her son Tyler at home.
She enjoyed going up north to go ATV and UTV trail riding, fishing and deer hunting. Gail loved camping, driving “out west” and traveling to warm places with Kurt and her family. She enjoyed bird watching, horses and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens at home. Gail was always supportive and very involved in her sons’ and other family members’ various activities and events over the years.
Gail is survived by her husband Kurt; their children Tyler Flom and Shawn (Lerin) Flom; her father Harry Thomas; sisters Tina (Matthew) Reindl of Saukville and Kandy (Joe) Huiras of Random Lake; mother-in-law Ida Flom; brothers-in-law Patrick (Cathy) Flom of Loves Park, Ill., and Thomas Flom of Fredonia; sisters-in-law LuAnn Seefeldt of Menomonee Falls and Leslie (Dennis) Backhaus of Fond du Lac; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins; other relatives; and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Marleene Thomas and father-in-law Earl Flom.
A memorial service will be held at noon Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, at Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. to noon.
Memorials are appreciated in Gail’s name to her favorite charity, Special Olympics Wisconsin.
