Free swim lessons offered for children

The Feith Family Ozaukee YMCA will provide free swim lessons for children ages 1 to 4, thanks to a generous grant from the Junior Woman’s Club of Mequon-Thiensville.

“Every child deserves the confidence, joy and safety that comes with learning to swim,” Junior Woman’s Club Co-President Kim Theune said.

“As part of our mission to support underfunded core services in our community, we’re thrilled that proceeds from our annual Turkey Trot are directly funding these lessons. This program is a powerful example of how local families, volunteers and partners can come together to create lasting impact.”

Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for children ages 1 to 4, and early swim instruction is a proven way to reduce this risk.

Space is limited, so families are encouraged to register early at the Y in Saukville.

For more information, call the Y at (262) 268-9622

The Y is at 465 Northwoods Rd.
