Fredonia, Waubeka to celebrate the season with tree lightings on Nov. 30, Dec. 6
The Village of Fredonia’s annual tree lighting will be held at 6 p.m. at Freedom Park, 207 Regal Dr., Sunday, Nov. 30.
The event will include hot cocoa and caroling. A special visit by someone in a red suit is also possible.
Waubeka and the Town of Fredonia’s community tree lighting will be held on Sunday, Dec. 6, at Firemen’s Park, formerly VFW Park, at N. 5401 Park Ave.
The event runs from 5 to 7 p.m. Cider, hot chocolate, mulled wine and cookies from Miriam’s bakery will be offered. The Boy Scouts will be making s’mores and have crafts for children.
The tree lighting will be at 6 p.m.
People may place an ornament on the community tree and make a wish. Ornaments will be provided.
Six other sponsored trees are also part of the festivities. The Waubeka 4-H, Boy Scouts, Waubeka Fire Department, Waubeka Historic District and the Flag Day Foundation have sponsored trees.
Freewill donations are accepted that night and in advance. Donation boxes are at Big Joe’s Gas and Convenience Store and at the Fredonia Government Center.
