Flag Day leader remembered at Valentine’s banquet

The National Flag Day Foundation held its annual Valentine’s Day Banquet on Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Americanism Center in Waubeka. It was the first banquet held in many years without the organization’s longtime leader Jack Janik, who died in October at age 85. Among those who memorialized Janik were his sons (top photo) David, who succeeded his father as group president, and (middle photo) Chris. The event is the largest fundraiser for the foundation and featured many silent auction items (bottom photo) as well as raffles and other activities. Photos by Sam Arendt
