Firefighters will hold fundraising brat fry July 27 to help ailing department member
The Fredonia Fire Department will hold a brat and burger fry from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 27, to benefit one of its members.
The event will be held at the fire station, 201 S. Milwaukee St.
Funds raised will be used to help pay medical expenses for Bob Lindbloom, who was diagnosed with cancer a year ago.
Complicating matters, Lindbloom also suffered a knee injury that kept him from working and from firefighting duties.
To help, Fredonia Fire Department members started a GoFundMe page and have held other fundraisers.
On the GoFundMe page, Lindbloom is described as “one of our most dedicated members; someone who is frequently the first to a call, raises a hand when volunteers are needed, and willing to cover a shift for anyone.”
Donations also are being accepted and can be made at Port Washington State Bank in Fredonia.
