Fire department cancels fall open house
The Saukville Fire Department has announced it is canceling its fall fire prevention open house due to concerns over the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
“This was a hard decision, but we believe a good decision to keep the community safe. We are looking into ways to still deliver fire prevention to the community,” a posting on the department’s social media page stated.
Meanwhile, the department is looking to fill vacancies for paid-on-call firefighters and emergency medical personnel.
There also are openings in the department’s Explorer program for students ages 14 to 18 and in its auxiliary.
