Farmers market vouchers are available for seniors
Vouchers that senior citizens can use at area farmers markets are now available.
The $25 vouchers can be used to buy fresh fruits and vegetables from approved markets and stands.
Vouchers are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to people 60 and older. To be eligible, they must have a monthly income of $1,968 or an annual income of $23,606 for a one-person household or $2,658 and $31,894, respectively, for a two-person household.
Only one voucher is allowed per household.
Proxy vouchers are available for home-bound seniors.
People who received a voucher in 2019 will receive information about the program by mail during the last week of June.
For information on how to obtain vouchers or proxy vouchers, call the Ozaukee County Aging and Disability Resource Center at 284-8120.
