Eugene T. Welch Jr.
Eugene T. Welch Jr. of Saukville peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, Feb. 19, 2024, at the age of 63 years.
Eugene was born on May 7, 1960, the son of the late Eugene T. Welch Sr. and the late Geraldine (nee Kleinsteiber) Welch.
He was united in marriage to Lori Pelkowski on Sept. 1, 1990, and they were blessed with four children.
After Eugene retired, he worked as a crossing guard for Saukville. He loved everything about being a crossing guard, making sure the kids were safe and waving to people passing by.
Eugene had a passion for dirt track racing and loved helping his son with racing. Even after his son stopped racing, he would still go every Saturday with the love of his life for “date night.”
He was an avid Packers fan and hunter, and in his younger years he played softball.
Eugene will be deeply missed by his family, friends and the community he touched.
He is survived by his wife Lori; children Nichole, Jennifer (Bill) Watry and Donnie; grandchildren Alysa, Magdelana, Savannah, Tyler, CJ and Caden; great-grandchildren Cooper, Aria, Marcel and Jasper; siblings Michael and Michelle; mother-in-law Patricia Ripple; great-niece and sidekick Emersyn “Little E”; and special friends Harry and Mandy. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Stephanie, stepfather Norman, father-in-law Alphonse and stepfather-in-law James.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory, 979 N. Green Bay Rd., Grafton. Visitation will take place on Friday at the funeral homefrom 4 p.m. until the service.
