Empty Bowls set for Oct. 30 at Grafton High
The 15th annual Empty Bowls event to benefit Family Sharing will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at Grafton High School.
Those attending may sample comfort foods, such as macaroni and cheese and soups from local restaurants as well as fresh breads and desserts.
Those attending may also purchase raffle tickets for items from local businesses.
The event aims to raise awareness of the fact many people struggle to find enough food to eat each day and the community can come together to solve the problem.
Funds raised will go toward Family Sharing’s food pantry.
Since 1979, Family Sharing has worked to ensure no one in Ozaukee County has to face hunger alone. Last year, the organization distributed more than 739,000 pounds of food and served more than 14,000 people through its food pantry and hunger relief programs.
“Empty Bowls is a wonderful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together,” Julie Hoover, executive director of Family Sharing, said. “As we celebrate our 15th year, we’re grateful for every volunteer, sponsor, restaurant and attendee who has helped make this event a tradition while supporting our mission.”
Tickets for the event are $30 and may be purchased at www.familysharingozaukee.org.
