Election features uncontested races, open seat

Aside from the race for Belgium Village president, the April 2 ballot in Belgium includes uncontested races.

The village is one trustee candidate short. Rose Sauers and Josh Borden are running again, but Dale Pfeifer filed non-candidacy papers and nobody else turned in nomination papers. That means the person with the most write-in votes has the option to be trustee.

In the Town of Belgium, all the incumbents are running unopposed, including Town Chairman Tom Winker, supervisors Tom Bichler and Bill Janeshek, Clerk Ginger Murphy and Treasurer Dayle Parks.

For the Cedar Grove-Belgium School Board, incumbents Chad Hoopman and Lori Gruell are running unopposed.
