Edwin M. Anderson

 

Mr. Ed Anderson of West Bend passed away at Froedert Hospital, West Bend, early Monday morning, Feb. 7, 2022, at the age of 95.

Edwin was born in Lake Park, Minn., on Feb. 3, 1927, the son of August and Sena (nee Skadishiem) Anderson.  

He attended local schools before joining the U.S. Navy in 1944. He became a Seebee and was sent to Korea to build Quonset huts before he was discharged in 1947.

He then joined the US Air Force in 1950 and served in both Iceland and Korea, where he was awarded a Bronze Star for his service  before being discharged in 1960.

Ed was united in marriage with Joyce Goral on March 3, 1956, in Milwaukee.  The couple later settled in Port Washington before moving to West Bend in 1975.

She preceded him in death in 2004.

Mr. Anderson was the first maintenance supervisor for the Port Washington School District, starting in 1967 and retiring in 1993.

Ed was a big fan of the Univeristy of Wisconsin Badgers and the Green Bay Packers, and he enjoyed listening to Merle Haggard.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son Larry of West Bend, other family and friends.  

He was preceded in death by siblings Selmer, Earl and Sylivia Anderson.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, Feb. 10, at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave. in Port Washington.  

The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service at noon.

He will be laid to rest beside his wife at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Washington, at a later date.

Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
