EDITORIAL: Ominous . . . to put it mildly

Ozaukee Press reader Mark Carlson photographed a scary sight on June 27 in rural Port Washington. It was a wall cloud of darkest gray with a ragged edge that, to those with vivid imaginations, might have looked like the teeth of a monster. Wall clouds, which descend out of towering cumulonimbus clouds, can spawn tornadoes, but this one was an element of a storm that featured straight-line wind strong enough to cause power outages in the area.
