Ed Friede

Mr. Ed Friede passed away peacefully at Pine Haven Christian Communities in Sheboygan Falls in the evening hours of Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2025. He was 92 years old.
Edward was born in Thiensville on Jan. 18, 1933, the son Arthur and Selma (nee Pipkorn) Friede.
He grew up on the family farm, attended local schools and later enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving until 1953.
Shortly after Ed’s return, his father decided his son should put his natural mechanical ability to work and purchased a property in Saukville for him to turn into an automotive repair shop. Eddie’s Service was born in 1957.
On Sept. 28, 1963, Ed was united in marriage with Dorothy Morauski at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church in Port Washington. The couple lived briefly in Port before moving to Saukville, conveniently locating where Eddie could walk to the shop every day. They raised a family of four children.
In 2000, Eddie sold the business, and he and Dorothy moved to Adell. Dorothy preceded Eddie in death in 2022.
Mr. Friede was a longtime member of River of Life Lutheran Church in Saukville, and had more recently been attending Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Adell. He was a 70-year member of the Landt-Thiel American Legion Post 470 in Saukville. In addition to his passion for automotive work and cars, Eddie enjoyed traveling and had gone on many cruises with his wife.
Survivors include his children Amy (Jeff) Richson of Cedar Grove, Kevin (Julie) Friede of Saukville, Heidi (Steve) Halverson of Sturgeon Bay and Aaron Friede of Adell; three grandchildren, Joseph, Laurel and Garrett; and three great-grandchildren, Isla Dorothy, Walker Lee and David Reinhold. He is further survived by his sister Anita Gavin, other family members, numerous loyal customers and friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his loving wife Dorothy.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, at River of Life Lutheran Church, 598 Hillcrest Rd., Saukville. The Rev. Dr. Daniel Paavola and the Rev. Paul Marks will preside over the service. The family will receive guests at the church from 10 a.m. until services begin at noon. A Legion walk-through will take place at 11:45 a.m. to honor Ed and military honors will be rendered immediately following the service.
Ed will be laid to rest beside his wife in Boltonville Union Cemetery at a later date.
Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
