Earth, Arbor days gone but environment not forgotten

Earth Day and Arbor Day came and went this year without a lot of the usual tree plantings and other observances because of the pandemic, but that doesn’t mean area organizations and agencies have forgotten about the environment. In Grafton last week, the Lions Club donated trees that were planted in Lions Park. Representing the club were members Dan Wrolstad (left in photo at left) and Bob Mercer. Also last week, the Ozaukee County Land and Water Management Department distributed plants purchased during its first native pollinator plant sale. Displaying some of the plants that were ready for pickup at the Highway Department in Port Washington were Geoff Schramm (left in photo below), who organized the sale, and Chase Brouillette.                            Photos by Sam Arendt
